Spirited Away adapted from the japanese original with title "SEN TO CHIHIRO NO KAMIKAKUSHI, spirited away is the animated story of a 10-year-old girl named chihiro. one day, in the middle of her family's move to the suburbs, chihiro wonders into a magical world where a witch rules over everyone and those who disobey are turned into animals. when her parents are turned into pigs, chihiro must appeal to many strange and interesting characters to help return her parents to their human form.

on her journey in the "parallel world", she had helped from haku who was the assistant to the witch. chihiro was to work in that place and let the witch took her name. the problem is, she can stay there forever. and the only way to go back is to remember her real name. haku had already forgotten his own name that he would never think of the other world, but strangely he'd remember chihiro's name who was already changed to sen.

at night, haku would turn into a dragon. one day, chihiro found haku in his dragon form with blood all over his body. it turned out that haku was so determined to learn witchcraft that he obeyed his master's order to steal a seal from the witch's twin sister. he got caught and was into a fight and poisoned. sen found him and took the risk to ask for the witch's sister's help and went on a long ride on a train, something that others would afraid to do. but she did it.. and they said,.. it was called love. so, as any movies.. it has a good ending. sen or chihiro's parents turned back into human and completely forgotten what had happened and the were able to go back to the world they live in.

i know .. i know.. this is not that 'new' movie. and honestly, eventhough i watched several movies every week, and mostly old ones, i hardly do any reviews on them. cuz i thought.. well.. many of you have probably saw it. but i can't help it on this one, cuz i think this animation movie was a good one, thus the oscars for the "best animation movie". i'm not really into anime or even animation movies, but there are some that i'd like to watch from beginning to end and still wish that it never ends. this movie is one of them. through wild imagination, it was still able to deliver a message to the audience. a message like... ask for permission before you eat.. it might turn you to pigs.. ;)

i love all the characters that were created, although weird and creepy, i bow the maker for the imagination. during the entire movie, i keep wondering how imaginative the creator is. well, coming from me.. it may not mean much, cuz i always claim myself as someone without that much of imagination.. :D
