strange and mysterious things, though, aren't they -- earthquakes? we take it for granted that the earth beneath our feet is solid and stationery. we even talk about people being "down to earth" or having their feet firmly planted on the ground.
but suddenly one day we see that it isn't true. the earth, the boulders, that are supposed to be so solid, all of a sudden turn as mushy as liquid. i heard it on the TV news: "liquefaction", they call it.

deepest condolonsces to the victims and the family of the victims of the recent earthquake in nias. we are given time to live our life in this borrowing time. live it to the fullest, but never take it for granted for He has the power to take it in a blink of an eye.:: sLesTa
